Tinkerers' Lab IITB

ABOUT

Tinkerers’ Laboratory (TL) is a student-run alumni-funded 24x7 lab that aims to provide technical facilities to all IITB students and encourage them to go beyond their curriculum and explore technology as a hobby, as fun, and start tinkering, building, and innovating to convert creative ideas into actual engineering products.

It was set up with support from the class of 1975 and has been in operation since March 2014 with the idea that it will complement the engineering education at IITB with some much-needed hands-on tinkering and thus foster innovation.

What do we do as a tinkerer?

A tinkerer is a person who enjoys trying new things by turning their original ideas into functional engineering products. This helps in inculcating a spirit of innovation within them. We at Tinkerers' Laboratory are always open to receiving such individuals. We allow them to pursue their passions, gain unrestricted hands-on experience, and spend countless hours experimenting without fear. Tinkerers' Lab is the place to go if machines and technology excite you.

THINK.

TINKER.

TRANSFORM.

Our vision

With the use of its hands-on learning opportunities, Tinkerers' Lab hopes to inspire students to become innovators by assisting them in turning their original ideas into functional engineering products. It hopes to spark a nationwide "Making" movement.
